On 7 October 1954, the Security Council, at its 68lst meeting, and the General Assembly, at its 493rd plenary meeting, elected Mr. Mohammad Zafrulla Khan (Pakistan) to fill the vacancy caused by the death of Sir Senegal Narsing Rau.
